5) A proposal to establish a sectional non-public meet was approved at the first reading on October 7.  The final reading on November 9 changed the way the state structures the outdoor championship program.  From the NJSIAA website:

"Rationale:
The number of non-public teams and the size of these teams have been steadily increasing over the years to the point that the State Group Meet level of competition has become cumbersome to handle for the site that hosts the non-public groups. With 40+ competitors in each event, the meet hosting these groups are running several hours longer than its counterpart. In addition, many in the track and field community for several years have felt that it is inherently unfair for some athletes to go through two qualifying meets to reach the Meet of Champions, while others have to go through one meet."

6) A proposal has been introduced to divide the state's approximately 110 boys volleyball teams into four equal sections based on northing (latitude) only, not school size. This proposal, too, was discussed and voted upon on November 9th.
