(Bill DeFazio, a Hudson County high school girls basketball coaching icon, November 17, 2010 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Coach DeFazio, 63, amassed an astounding 576-169 record while coaching at St. Anthony High in Jersey City from 1977 to 1990 and at Marist High in Bayonne from 1990 to 2009.He was inducted into the NJSIAA Hall of Fame in 2007 and stands first in Girls Basketball in Hudson County with his 576 wins)

(Frank A. Baldachino- Vice Principal/Director of Athletics at Dumont High School (retired) for 23 years. Active in DAANJ, having served as president in 1985-87. Member of NJSIAA Executive Committee 1988-91, elected NJSIAA President in 1990/91. Recipient of NJSIAA Award of Honor in 1988, New Jersey Director of Athletics of the Year in 1987, and inducted into Dumont High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Class of 2003 - Bollinger High School Hall of Fame Athlete Individual Chris Donfield- Retired basketball coach from Bergen Catholic High School after thirty-four years with overall record of 648-220, most wins by any coach in Bergen County)

JP FLYNN MEMORIAL
(The tournament is held in memory of the late JP Flynn Delbarton '86 who, as a Colgate University student returning from a semester abroad, was killed in the 1988 terrorist attack on Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie Scotland. JP was a standout player for both Wave basketball and tennis, and was inducted posthumously into the Delbarton Alumni Association's Hall of Honor. His parents, Jack and Kathleen, presented the trophy to the 2011 tournament winner, Sparta High School.)
